About Anahata Yoga Workshop
At Anahata Yoga, we seek to support our students at all stages of their yoga journey. An important element of this support is the regular yoga workshops we conduct. These workshops are designed as focused sessions covering specific areas of yoga to advance our yoga students’ knowledge and skill development. The workshops represent opportunities for certified teachers to capture continuing education skills, regular yoga practitioners to capture knowledge and skill to develop their practice, or anyone who wants to understand particular aspects of yoga at a deeper level than available in normal yoga class environments. All our Masters have extensive experience and skill, this allows us to cater for all student levels from beginner to long-term practitioners in an interactive, supportive and safe environment.
The workshop will be lead and supported by Anahata Yoga Masters with extensive skill and experience to ensure each student develops in a safe and secure environment. All activities and asanas will be presented and demonstrated in a structured and simple manner to ensure students capture a good understanding of methods and approaches. Each student will develop skills and understanding in a safe, fun, and enjoyable environment which will help them to enhance their own practice.
About Wall Rope Workshop
Wall and Rope Yoga – yoga props provide wonderful support to students as they seek the benefits of many varied asanas but have yet to develop the capacity or range of motion to complete those asanas. Walls and ropes represent props that can be utilised in many varied ways to support students enhance their range of motion on their journey to the unassisted form of an asana.
The workshop will be conducted for two days:
- Workshop 1 will focus on the use of a wall to support modifications for a variety of asanas. These include backbends such as cobra, camel, and wheel pose and as a tool to develop technique and confidence for “dropping back” from a standing position to the wheel. Also, the wall is utilised to develop technique, alignment, and confidence for completing inversion asanas such as headstand, forearm stand/pincha, forearm stand/pincha with hollow back, and handstand – each also covering the ability to “drop back” to wheel from each inversion.
- Workshop 2 will focus on the use of wall ropes to support modifications for a variety of asanas. These include back bending postures, inversions and traction release of the spine, and a variety of ways to aid hip and hamstring strength and flexibility.
