FAQs

I see other studios offering 30- and 40-hour, as well as 3-day weekend Kids Yoga Teaching Training Courses. What is the difference between these classes and Anahata Yoga’s long 200HR course?

Instructors who are serious about teaching yoga for children need to have good foundational grounding in yoga, and how it can be taught to kids of various age groups. This involves sound knowledge of both practice and theory. At Anahata Yoga, our Kids Yoga Teacher Training Course is composed of 60% practical sessions and 40% theory. To complete the training, students attend kids’ yoga classes conducted in our studio and also conduct a yoga class for children in the presence of a faculty member.

We ensure that our students are fully equipped and confident to teach yoga to children across a range of age groups upon completion of our programme. Upon completion of our course, students are also invited to be part of the Andiappan Yoga Community as a volunteer and teach in our programmes that offer yoga to children and families.

What makes Anahata Yoga’s Kids Teacher Training Course different from those of other schools’?

Instructors need to be well informed and educated about the anatomy, physiology and common health conditions of children to qualify to teach children yoga. They need to understand the different tools and techniques to properly and safely guide children in a yoga class, while making it a fun experience. Our Kids Yoga Teacher Training focuses primarily on equipping our students with these knowledge, skills and training experiences.
