If your goal is to pursue a career in yoga teaching, we highly recommend enrolling in the RYT 500 program. Yoga studios prefer to hire teachers who are versatile and can teach various styles and levels, from beginners to advanced students, as well as conduct meditation classes. There is currently a strong demand for qualified yoga teachers who can work with adults, children, and diverse skill levels. Given the vastness of yoga as a discipline, completing these courses will equip you to guide your students safely and effectively in multiple ways.
The highly skilled teachers are paid higher than their less experienced counterparts, as their versatility and expertise enable them to offer a broader range of classes and attract more students. This not only enhances their earning potential but also increases their job opportunities in a competitive market.
As each course is different, you will receive a separate certificate for each course you complete. Additionally, we can assist you with your initial RYT 500 registration with Yoga Alliance. However, please note that you will need to renew your RYT 500 teacher listing with Yoga Alliance each year by paying a fee of around USD 110 directly to them.
You will also receive a free registration and CYT mark for each course, along with a listing in the teacher directory on our accredited school website . This allows people to learn more about your classes, the locations where you teach, and to contact you if they wish to take lessons from you.
Each course features a detailed breakdown of classes, including YTT classes, group and Andiappan Yoga sessions, self-study hours, community project observation hours, and assessment and assignment hours. Please refer to the breakdown available on each teacher training detail page for specific hour allocations for each course.
As an RYT 500 graduate, you have a two-year timeframe to complete these classes, while non-RYT 500 students must finish within one month after their respective course end date. This gives you more time to complete your training hours.
While you can choose to take the courses separately and pay the course fee individually, there are two key benefits to enrolling in the RYT 500 program as a unified program.
First, you have a total of two years to complete the courses. Second, the course fee for the RYT 500 program is significantly lower. If you enroll in the courses separately, the fee for a 200 + 300-hour combination would be HKD 72,000.
Alternatively, if you choose to join the courses as (200 + 100 + 100 + 100), the total fee would be HKD 83,000. By enrolling in the RYT 500 program, you benefit from both a cost advantage and a generous two-year time frame to complete your training.
Please note, you’ll have the option to attend all the classes of the course through an online via Zoom. This means that even if you’re traveling, you can still join the class online. The link to access the teacher training class will be available in your student portal. If you happen to miss up to three classes in the teacher training, don’t worry.
There will be a revision class held on last week Sunday afternoons during your batch timings where you can catch up on the topics and poses you missed. The teacher will cover those missed materials during these revision classes. However, if you miss more than three classes and you want to retake them in another batch, you can apply for module retake.
Details about this retake process can be found on this page https://www.anahatayoga.com.hk/yoga-teacher-training-missed-classes-module-retake/ If you informed us about the dates of the classes you’ll be missing during the admission process, you won’t have to pay the retake fee of HKD 500 per module, you can fill in the missing dates in the teacher training application form.
This is because those missed classes were already approved for retake when you enrolled. But if you miss more than 3 classes after starting the course, and if you wish to retake the missing classes, you will be required to pay the retake fee of HKD 500 per module.
Assessments are conducted in two parts – Written Assignment and Practical Assesement.
Written Assignment: You will receive this assignment topic by email during the course and you can write it and submit it online via student portal. These are topics related and taught during your YTT classes and you can refer the course manual.
Practical Assessment: Practical assessment will be conducted on the last 2 YTT classes where you will teach a few poses from the syllabus with your YTT students group and the teacher will asses the teaching and give you review about how to improve your teaching techniques. After the completion of the above two assessment process, Course completion certification will be processed.
You have up to one week from the date of payment to select the batches or courses you wish to enroll in. However, we understand that your preferences may change, and you might want to switch the course you initially enrolled in or change to a different batch. To accommodate this, we allow one transfer between courses or batches. with admin fee (HKD 1000 Waived). If you wish to make a change, please inform us before the course start date, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
For any additional changes after that, a batch transfer administration fee (HKD 1000) will apply. However, once the batch has started, transferring to a different batch is not possible. Instead, you will need to apply for the option to retake missed classes in another batch by paying an administration fee of HKD 500 per module.
