Student Feedback

Hear what our past and present students have to say about our Teacher Training Programmes.

Masters took care of the online prenatal YTT students even they were having studio class at the same time. I never felt neglected as masters did answer the questions we asked and guide us to do asana. It was a wonderful and informative course. It’s perfect for all yoga practitioners especially mamas-to-be.

Firstly,I would like to express my appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the administrators and teachers of IYA,HK and Asana Andiappan Chennai centres. I am very glad that I enrolled in the online Prenatal yoga training course with HK centre, as I got to meet and learn from various experts. ( I would say pillars in the yoga community). The support I got and the knowledge I acquired in both theory and practical modules are immense. In both modules, teachers took time to clear doubts and shared many tips / knowledge which will be very useful in my teacher's training. I loved the interaction between teachers and students throughout this course. My preferred choice to get training will always be " in person". Nevertheless, the teaching style was not compromised in online learning. I am truly blessed to have had such amazing teaching faculty.Thank you Dr.Anjhana, Master Dheeraj, Master Dileep and Master Vishnu for sharing the wealth of your knowledge in both theory and practical modules. All of you have an excellent approach to teaching and answering questions related to anatomy, pranayama and deep relaxation methods, asanas and its variations. Attending practical sessions with Master Yogananth, Master Dheeraj,Master Maharajan, Master Keshav, Master Vishnu, Master Mahesh Iyappan and last but not the least ,Master Rajadurai, has been a new learning experience everyday. Their unique expertise, dedication to teaching and caring nature is a true blessing for all the trainees. It's a wonderful idea to have an online teacher - student interaction ,question and answer session after each practical lesson.

I spent lots of time researching where to take my yoga teacher training and I find that I make my right choice here. It was a great experience of my first YTT in Anahata, the training let me know more about yoga that it isn’t not only about asana but many things as well. All Masters that teach the training are knowledgeable, well-experienced and supportive. For the prenatal training, we’re not only learn doing asana, we also know about mediation and some contradictions during pregnancy. It’s really help me a lot to deepen my yoga knowledge especially for pregnant women. The best part was that we touched on various meditation skills, modification of prenatal series, reason for doing these poses and more. The Masters are always welcome for questions and extra help. Besides training course, the group classes and Andiappan classes improve my yoga skills immensely and my knowledge of the asanas grow dramatically. During Andiappan classes, it’s more chance for me to interact with other classmates and let me assisting each other for doing certain poses. This is a really good way to learn that I have more experience to assist student when I teach in the future. In general, the studio is warm and welcoming, no matter my yoga skill level is experienced or not. I definitely recommend this YTT course to my yogi friends

I truly enjoyed Prenatal YTT with Anahata Yoga. With all the generous and caring masters’ guidance, my classmates and I have learnt a lot throughout this 100 hours Prenatal YTT course. As a woman who is planning to have a baby and an enthusiastic yoga practitioner, I have understood a lot more about pregnancy which gives me great confidence in my yoga journey. Before commencing taking part in this course, I have a lot of misunderstanding about practicing yoga during pregnancy. After taking this YTT course, I have learned asanas, pranayama techniques and meditation techniques recommended for pregnancy. Knowing how to perform safely and avoid injury for pregnant yogis. All the variations and modifications of asanas, pranayama, and meditation for pregnant women are very useful. Thank you very much to all Masters’ guidance and patience. Namaste

I joined this course, as I am pregnant myself and I wanted to deepen my yoga practice during pregnancy, and to immerse myself in an overall yogic- experience in this phase. I was a little worried initially about completing 100 hours in such a short span of time, but it is amazing how much flexibility the course offered in terms of different classes and timings that I could choose from depending on my energy levels week on week ranging from Pranayama, Yin Yoga or more challenging Hatha practices. I loved how the course was structured and gave a lot of emphasis to pranayama, chakras, Tratak meditation and aspects of yoga that are little appreciated or taught. I felt that all the masters have this great field of energy around them making the class interactions a deeply uplifting experience. All masters are extremely down-to-earth and friendly and were happy to answer any questions we had in great detail. They also all have a different unique style of teaching, different backgrounds and come with their own set of experiences with pregnant women, which make the course very holistic as the students are exposed to a range of teaching methods, alternate ways to sequence a class and perspectives. I also loved the discussions on food and lifestyle choices for pregnant women that are rooted in Ayurveda, Garbha Shastra (old Vedic texts pertaining to the womb) and old Indian practices. Occasionally I found some aspects of these teachings quite controversial, but I still personally loved it as it expanded my thought process even though I did not necessarily agree with the masters on some topics. This course overall, was an excellent pregnancy management tool for my own pregnancy, other than being an excellent teacher training course. I can earnestly say it helped me manage several of my pregnancy-related issues like body stiffness, aches and pains, insomnia, mood swings, gas and reflux that I had dealt with last pregnancy.  It helped me relax deeply, and connect with my body and my baby with a confidence and intuition that I did not know I possessed. Understanding the necessary modifications for a pregnant anatomy, enabled me to attend any yoga class and modify it to work for me. I will recommend this course especially to all pregnant women (not just aspiring teachers) if you want to have a strong, healthy, profoundly fulfilling pregnancy in a yogic way. I feel so blessed to have found this course in my current phase, as it will always make this pregnancy a very special one for me.

The course was very informative and I feel I enhanced my knowledge on yoga asana / pranayama / meditation in general, not just restricted to prenatal. Learning from a variety of teachers was very beneficial and it was great to get the view of a number of different experienced individuals. Overall it was very enjoyable and I would now be much more comfortable even if a pregnant woman were to walk into a class that I'm teaching! Thank you!

This is my second Yoga Teacher Training course and I have learnt and benefited a lot from this course. Pregnancy is an incredibly special time in womens life. So this makes me very curious about prenatal yoga. As I m a yoga lover (I m also a woman?), I would like to know how yoga can help with a pregnancy and this course was most educational. I have learnt about physiological and emotional changes in pregnancy period. Pregnant women may have different conditions like depression, back pain and insomnia… etc. I am now more fully appreciate the sacrifice of mother. I have learnt many interdictions and asana suitable for pregnant women and what to avoid during this period now. I hope my knowledge can help with my teaching of pregnant women Finally, I do want to thank all Masters who had taught me in this course. They are all very kind and professional, I hope I can join other advanced classes in the coming year! Namaste

I thoroughly enjoyed the 100 Hours Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Course with all the masters in Anahata. They were outstanding in leading us through their fully immersive program. Its my third Teacher Training I have completed in Anahata and all the courses material was structured so brilliantly and systematically; that we were able to cover a plethora of topics in a relatively short amount of time - and retain it! We dove deeply into beautiful pranayama and asana practices and learnt how to craftfully structure a class energetically and physically. I have learned more about myself, happiness, compassion for others and most importantly, listen to my body as a mom-to-be! Thank you Master Yogananth, Master Mahesh & Master Vishnu!
